Dean's Welcome
Dean's Words
Founded in November 2001, the School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR) has evolved an integrated knowledge school of catching the main studies that provide the training ground for tomorrow's environmental leaders and managers. SENR’s research and teaching efforts have covered not only traditional economics and science but also the interactions of economic growth and natural systems.

As one of the youngest schools at Renda, SENR’s students and faculty alike are approaching the practice and vision to the future. The School's goal is to provide inspired and professional education that equips its graduates to enable involving and influencing the decision making process of governments, business, academia, nongovernmental organizations, mass media, education, and international institutions. My colleagues and I are committed to engage our teaching and research efforts to solving the pressing environmental problems and reforming the behaviors and thinking of the concerned interest groups. We believe that the priorities listed below will continue to mature and expand our program’s capacity and influences.

♦        China’s environmental alterations have reached critical levels. The country must take determined action to develop a well integrated strategy to command the mixed and simultaneous environmental challenges at various scales and styles: global, local, transboundary, traditional, post-industrial, biological, healthy, contaminative and.....

♦        The responses to the urgent challenges request employment of the well trained professionals who are able to provide management solution by relying on the solid foundation of sciences and technologies. We further trust the need currently and in the coming years for multiple disciplinary managers and policy makers are much more urgent in China than the traditional trained engineers and scientists. Pressure and crisis now require a fusion of science, economics, engineering, public administration, and other knowledge.

♦        Cooperation between government, society and market is the most crucial and really possible, with the progress of technology innovation, market maturing, policy reform and awareness promotion. The opportunities of win-win or all wins will be finally changing the human being’s views on the value of natural systems, which will also be fundamentally rebuilding people’s social behaviors.

I honestly expect you coming into the School as colleagues, partners, students, friends, or visitors and join us together in building the School's tomorrow and contributing to the prospects for clean and beautiful environment.
